BORDEAUX UNDISCOVERED
The CIVB (Bordeaux Wine Bureau) had an objective of redefining the perception of Bordeaux wines to better reflect the diverse varietals and approachable nature of the wines in the region. The success would be measured through finding distribution for unreleased wines from small, family estates in target markets. The result was a three-city tasting tour that reached key wine buyers, influencers, and consumers in Houston, WA D.C. & New York City.
Our services began by developing a deeper understanding of the target audience and the exciting new trends in Bordeaux. Bordeaux Undiscovered was created with the vision of bringing guests on a journey from the rich traditions of Bordeaux to a new world of winemaking that embraces modernity – biodynamic practices, innovations in sustainability, new techniques, unconventional blends, and a new approach to branding.

BRANDING
The logotype for Bordeaux Undiscovered hints at discovery through removing sections of the font. Subtle regional typography repeats as outlined copy in the background spilling off the page.
Regional themes are further highlighted through treated photography – sustainability, individuality, terroir, heritage and modernity.
The color palette offers a means of expressing the rich hues of each varietal that are specific to the regions of our tasting tour – Bordeaux / Bordeaux Supérieur, Fronsac, Pomeral, Sain Émilion, Côte De Bordeaux, Médoc, & White Bordeaux.
DIGITAL
A series of digital assets and shareable motion graphics content were created for the digital marketing campaign.
The sheer volume of winemakers participating in the tasting series provided a challenge and an opportunity. We wanted to ensure that guests were able to dig deeper to learn more about the wines they enjoyed, as well as those that they were unable to experience. Tasting notebooks with QR codes, Tasting Wheels, and Photo Booths all offered great ways to establish deeper connections among trade partners, and immortalize the moment.
EXPERIENTIAL DESIGN
The design team created vivid environmental graphics to bring each venue to life and create a sense of wonder and discovery at every turn.
